Hello from Sunny Brisbane
Entry 10 of 20 | show all | print this entry |
Hi everyone,
Well we left Tassie a few days ago. It really was a great place to visit, and if we do come back to Australia, then it will be on the cards again.
We arrived in Brisbane yesterday, Saturday. We had a most interesting flight from Hobart. We were sitting on the 3rd row, and in front of us was a family, mother, father, mother-in-law and 2 little ones. The mother called over on of the cabing crew, and talked to him for a few moments. Then we took off from Hobart. As the Cabin crew were about to start the food service, they made an annoncement.
"Sorry Ladies & Gentlemen, but today we will be unable to serve ANYONE on the aircraft with peanuts, as we have a little baby, that might have a peanut allegy"
WHAT! We couldn't believe it. Not for the whole aircraft to not be served a single peanut. Was this baby going to lick everyones fingers? And what if someone already had their own packet of peanuts, would the mother insist that they dispose of them!! I really wanted to have a packet of peanuts in my bag!!!
Anyway, we arrived in Brisbane and picked the car up. Switched on Ken (our friendly GPS), and he directed to our next destination.
We are staying with one of Chris's ex-work collegues. So, now we are staying at Derek and Caroles. They have a fantastic house, and have been here 3 years now. In fact they are going for their Citizenship ceremony tomorrow, so they will have dual passports as of tomorrow.
We had a lovely BBQ last night, true aussie style, with lots of beer and loads of meat.
This morning, we went for a bike ride with Carole around the area, and when we came back we had a breakfast BBQ!!!!!! OMG, lots of tasty food.
We then went into Brisbane city, we drove to a place (which I can't remember at the moment) and caught the Sea-cat into the city. For only a few dollars, we had a brilliant 45 minute journey into the city. As it was Sunday it was quite busy, but we had a good time. Actually we have just got back, after having an amazing meal in a greek restaurant.
As I am sitting here typing the blog tonight, Derek's daugther Sarah, has just brought me a cold beer. And Christopher his Son has callenged me to a game of some shooter on the Playstation 2.
So, I guess it's time to close this entry. We are here for one more day, and then we are heading off to Hervey Bay Tuesday morning.
Hopefully, we will have the internet there, so will try and update as often as possible.
Hope you are all well.
