Daybreak at the sandbar
If there's something that could be considered the crowning glory of my recent trip to Camiguin, that would be White Island, an immaculate sandbar off the coast of Mambajao. White Island: At the edge of heaven
Disappearing at high tide and then reappearing at low tide, the shoal can be reached via a 10-minute pump boat ride from Yumbing's shores.
White Island
Before the crack of dawn, my coworkers and I went to the sandbar since the waters are calmer at that hour. Together with other tourists, we boarded one of the pump boats that ferry passengers into White Island.
Wandering around White Island
When my beach-hungry feet finally touched its powdery sands, the sandbar enthralled me right there and then. It was absolutely chada, or beautiful in the vernacular. And I kept wondering why it took me so long to go to that slice of heaven on earth.
Basking in the early morning sun
Not wanting to lose to oblivion my memories of our moments there, I snapped all over the place to capture the best angles I could take of the spectacular shoal, which, on that day, took the shape of the letter C, as in Camiguin!
