As predicted I spent these days relaxing in and around Dakar... but not only
I left an announcement at Centre Culturel Français as to get in contact with potential travelmates. It worked and I considered pursuing with Diallo (student girl from Guinea Conakry, Guillaume (Togolese clock repairer), Hamadou (Senegalese intellectual radio journalist and ethno-linguist), and Djibril (Senegalese film director living in Paris).
I ate with old and new friends at the top of Clinique de la Madeleine (Cap Manuel; nice viewpoint of Dakar) at CCF and at a maquis nearby, at La perle Noire (Cité Isra ; good food and cool owners), Chez Loutcha (Plateau ; huge plates of Capverdian food), at L'écho côtier, La Pierre de Lisse and La ferme de Sally (Petite Côte)...
I had a couple of drinks with Paul and other friends at places like Iguane Café, Texas, Mex, Papayer and Casino du Cap Vert, Le Patio, Café Kermel, le Seven, ...
I went to Petite Côte on week-ends (Popenguine, Sally, Ngaparou), to Ndangane to discover Saloum and see my friend Nabou (with Ibou, Lucile and her friend) who received us with the best Tjeboudjen ever in the family concession.
I went to various beaches around: Yoff Virage, Hann Plage, Ngor Plage and Island, beaches at Petite Côte...
I did the engine check-up with Ibrahim and did what necessary maintenance to pursue the trip.
I met Amara and her cousins. With them I went back to Goree Island and La Madeleine Island.
I got my camcorder repaired by Ibrahim Beye (for the mechanical part), and Modou Gueye.
I endlessly tried to meet a politrical leader, a sinister and the director of an hospital to get some material contribution in exchange of services... or not.
I spent many night talking, listening Wolof conversations and drinking tea at Maguette's house in Yoff Layen with her brother-in-law Pit and his friends El Hadj, Brown and co. There I hate (too much) Tjeb and other Senegalese rice-based meals, tasted great juices, played a lot with kids (mostly little Nabou, Imam and Bilal).
I want to especially thank Marie and Carole for hosting me during these weeks spent in Dakar.
I thought of pursuing the trip with Djibril and Angelica, but this couldn't happen. Then I decided to further look for a travelmate and found Kelly from Vancouver, Canada. She arrived on Sept 1st and we'll leave Dakar by Sept 5th and head to Mali.
You can see the itinerary we planned at:

Le séjour s'est prolongé à Dakar... un peu trop à mon goût mais j'ai mis à profit ces quelques semaines dans le cadre de ma recherche d'emploi et je pense quitter Dakar ces prochains jours avec Kelly, après diverses tractations et préparations que j'évoquerai plus tard...
