Today was the long drive from Put-in-Bay to Nashville. It was a magnificently beautiful day for a long drive.
We started the morning nice and late, and hit the road to the ferry about 9:45. We took the 10am ferry back to Port Clinton, and started the drive around 10:45. We were both ravenous since we hadn't eaten breakfast, and decided we would hit the first rest stop along 80/90 to grab breakfast and fill up on fuel. We stopped at a Hardee's and were sad to find out they didn't have a breakfast menu. We were very distressed because neither of us was ready for greasy burgers. I ended up getting a chicken nugget style kids meal, which was completely gross and very dissatisfying
Then we were back on the road...! We were half way through Ohio and we saw a herd of cows grazing, and Sarah decided it was a good idea to "Moo" at them. She opened the window, stuck her head out, and let out a raging loud, "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" I was in disbelief! It was the most random thing ever, and I would have never though Sarah would have been the one to "Moo" out the window. After the "moo" incident, the trip got that much better because the mood/energy in the car was better.
We had quite the awesome soundtrack for the drive, too. I had a handful of mix CD's in my car with random music ranging from 70s rock and 90s flashback to Irish punk. Then, we put on music from Glee and started jamming to that.
The next time we got food was at a Subway in Kentucky. The Subway was part of a Love's truck stop, and the Sandwich Artist was more like a Sandwich Finger Painter. I have never had so many pickles dumped onto my my sandwich in my life! I swear, if you asked for extra pickles, you still wouldn't have as many pickles as I had on that sandwich. The whole thing was just not satisfying. The more exciting thing was the Indiana Jones fedoras for sale. Sarah looked pretty awesome in the fedora. :)
We were in Kentucky and determined that it is a very international state
The rest of the journey was uneventful and pleasant. When we finally reached Nashville, we went out to dinner at Watanabe, the sushi restaurant Adrienne works at. We had a delicious dinner, but it was just so much food! I took some pictures that I like to call the "Unattractive Eating Pictures". We do look quite awful while eating. Fortunately, dinner was delicious and Adrienne was a magnificent server.
The night ended with Canadian whiskey back at Sarah and Ted's house, then bed.
