So along we went, together with the Justins. To our severe disappointment, it was Frankie's day off. So we resorted to some sightseeing. There is no doubt- this city is beautiful and romantic. You want to stop at every second house, sit in their canal-bordering garden and have tea.
We played away our Frankie-sorrow by playing Trivial Pursuit and Uno (and a couple of beers).
After an amazing breakfast at a cafe, long conversation ensued with the Congolese owner, as we bonded over our Africaness.
Justin #1 and I were fascinated by 2 men making candy by hand
Much to our relief, we next met Frankie, who must've thought we were stalkers as we all knew everything about him. Alas, a night of Belgian beer and Pirate Metal started. Raph and I were hit by severe Edelweiss nostalgia and ended helping behind the bar. The night ended in a small local hole in the wall place and few good beers with the locals.
And thus, we leave this city, enchanted by it's romance and maybe slightly hungover.
