Day Trip to Lübeck
Entry 4 of 9 | show all | print this entry |

Our second weekend in Lüneburg Eva Vosshagen, our USAC director, took us all on a day trip to Lübeck and Travemünde. We took the slow train. So it took a while.
Our first stop was Lübeck, a sister city of Lüneburg and fellow importer/exporter of salt back in medieval times. Lübeck is larger than Lüneburg, but it still shares that medieval vibe. We visited several Gothic cathedrals as well as the famous Niederegger Marzipan Museum. We did a walking tour and also saw the house of Thomas Mann, who's novels we had studied at UNT earlier that year. Since drinking is not prohibited on the streets, we all stopped for a photo op with beers in hand. We had a great time.
