We were put up in a hotel with assurance that we would be leaving on the early morning departure, but nothing was guaranteed and we weren't confident about making it to Phu Quoc Island the next day.
Went out with the other 11 companions for a meal (that wasn't so good) and a drink before a rubbish nights sleep.Total
Shorter journey to the border than we expected. It was busy due to Chinese New Year, but apart from waiting for our visas to be processed the whole experience was pretty easy going. We were then put on a sleeper bus for 10 minutes before being carted off onto another mini bus that took us to the port. As we arrived we saw our boat floating away and it dawned on us that we were too late! The next few hours we tried to organise alternative transport to the island but money doesn't talk in Vietnam. Jamie and Lee attempted to talk to the Vietnamese travel agent in Ha Tien as it was her who issued the boat tickets after the departure time. This did not go so well as she went psycho and became physical hitting and poking Jamie in the face! She was seriously unprofessional and we would like to warn people against using her as she is a scam written all over. Unsure of the companies name but it is the only travel agency in Ha Tien.
