Before I go into Victoria Falls, I would like to explain a bit about Zimbabwe. You see, like many unfortunate countries in Africa, Zimbabwe has a few problems. The largest being that its president, Robert Mugbe, is a tyrant and in immediate need of removal. He has torn down this countries economy, it's people and it's future. This may most easily been understood when looking at how far the Zim dollar has fallen to the US dollar; a remarkable Z$45,000 to $1USD!

It was thus with extreme caution that I found myself sitting around a metal tool shed that this country called a Customs Office. I just didn't trust these guys at all. As I waited around for my visa to be processed, dozens of people had come and gone. The officials seemed to care little and perhaps even enjoyed the brief bit of power they had in making us wait. Eventually we were thankfully given back our passports and sent on our way. To this day, it's still one of the shadiest border crossings I've dealt with.

The obvious highlight of the area is seeing the Victory Falls of the Zambezi River. It took me until my final full day to see it, but it was quite stunning. I'd love to go back when the water is at it's highest level. Here's some photos!

As my time in Zimbabwe and Africa came to a close I looked back at all the amazing memories I had made. It had been the experience of a lifetime and I know I'll be coming back for more. Above all though, I will remember the friends that joined me on the adventure. They truly made it special - thanks guys!
