Time for some fun, sea and relaxation

Or at least, that's what the book(s) say.

Nha Trang is the beach resort town of Vietnam, and boy does it show. If you're looking for some sun times in Vietnam, here's the place to get it. The City itself has been built up on tourism. Nothings old and dated, but everywhere caters for the tourists, local or foreign, who just want a dip in the sea and a real good time. It's party central for a lot of people. The main hostel is right next to the first cheap bar, which is followed round the corner by another, and another and another.

Sometimes it's tough to let your hair down.

So what's there to do? Swimming, sitting, drinking and eating are the main day to day activities, but there are some attractions. First there's the Mud Bath's, which have a wide selection of pampering activities. It's dirty work, but it's a fun and relaxing way to get some clean skin. It's an activity definitely for the rich Vietnamese, and westerners.

Second is the one of the highlights of Vietnam so far. Vin-pearl Land.

It's a amusement park and water park all combined into one, and I for one was very very excited to get there. The park itself is on an huge island, so the only way to get there is through a very long cable car. They have incredible views of the city and it's surrounding waters, but heights was never my forte. The water park does have some thrilling slides and rides, the half pipe being a particular favourite, and in the amusement part, you get to try your hand on free arcade games. Yes, I was as shocked as you when I found out that little feature. It even sports a small and non thrilling roller coaster.

Because it's two parks in one, you are left a little disappointed with the lack of quantity when it comes to rides, but it's still an joyful day out.

Despite being a pleasant place, Nha Trang does come with it's dark sides. The beach is a notorious spot for thieves of all caliber, especially at night. The message rang true when not one, but two friends had their cameras, money and even iPod's stolen whilst going for a midnight swim. It's a place where common sense and eye's at the back of you're head are useful tools to have.

All in all though, it's a beach lovers paradise. Chances are you'll leave with a heavy head, and a lighter bag and wallet, but that shouldn't deter you from going there in the first place.
