Hi all,

time for another update on the latest adventure. So we left Salzburg and headed up to the Ice Caves - a massive cave completely covered in ice. So, having walked up a fricken steep mountainside for half an hour or more we then donned thermals, jerseys, hoodies, hats, gloves and jackets to check out these amazing ice creations inside the cave - some of the ice is 20 metres thick.

We then headed back to Salzburg to stock up on food and from there to Konigsee (King's Lake). We had a nice little free camp next to the beautiful but absolutely freezing lake and stayed there to see the Eagle's Nest the next day. This is where Hitler had his summer retreat which apparently he never went to anyway. Good musuem there with some graphic photos of the atrocities of WWII. We also visited a massive bunker which was really impressive.

From there we headed across the border into Germany to check out Ludwig's castle. Bit of a mission getting there as we underestimated the distance so we missed out on joing an english tour (the only way you can actually get into the castle rooms) but we went up for a look at the outside. Absolutely beautiful, if you ever get the chance go have a look. Looks like the disney land castle or is it vise versa?

good news Zeke and Jen caught us up with another couple Bambam and Leila vans going ok and spirits are up a bit. They arrived after we had done the castles so we traveled on leaving them to visit castles the next morn. Plan to rondevoux in Berlin.

The next day we headed up to a town called Rothenburg - a great little medieval town with a fantastic torture/criminal museum. There was one great punsihment where drunken men had to wear a massive beer barrel strapped over their shoulders - the boys have been warned!

After the look round of Rothenburg we split up us and mads/kim headed to chech and the others up germany to berlin. On the way we visited Nurmburg and the dokumentazion centrum a very very detailed museum of the rise of hitler his propoganda and the fianally the trials for war crimes. Very interesting. Spent the night then headed to chech.

We stopped for the night in Pilser, Chech home of the first pilsner beer and as ya do went to the brewery for a few tastes (its ok ........ actually bloody good) and a life sized game of chess Cyrus 1 Mads 0! Befor the brewery we went for a swim at the lake and due to lack of parking had to park on far side of lake and walk a way to a beach which turned out to be a lovely little nuddist beach.......bit of a laugh (we found a place where clothes were a little more accepted).

Next day into Prague and finally a camping ground and a shower (swims a great but dont quite cut it). We decided to put sightseeing on hold and shopped and partied met some great people and had a big night out in a 5 storey club.

Today we slept in and it was raining so not too hot a luxery. Tomorrow we head to Berlin and find the others.

Hope every one is well
