If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear good quality walking shoes. Today we walked down to Union Square to buy our transit passes, to start our adventures on the San Francisco muni system. Firstly we caught an old streetcar, from Washington DC in the 1940s. This took us up to Fisherman's Wharf, and a short walk to Washington Square, home of Little Italy. The pizza couldn't have been more different from Chicago's deep pan pizza, all thin and crispy, with a few gourmet toppings.

Our after lunch stroll was not particularly long, but covered a lot of height, up Telegraph Hill to see the Coit, and then up Lombard Street to see the famous zigzag section. The cable cars were too full to fit us on with the stroller, so after a quick trek over Russian Hill, we took the electric trolleybus home.

San Francisco is a gorgeous city, the tourist are everywhere (at least in the tourists districts).
