We awoke to a balmy morning in Charleston, got ourselves some breakfast on the run and headed down to the local market to stock up for our stay in Charleston. Fantastic market with local produce, ice tea, Lady Diana's favorite chutney, cold soup and some arts and crafts. It is something about tropical climates that make farmers markets so much more popular - think Darwin or Brisbane.
The afternoon was spent strolling around the streets of downtown Charleston, viewing the wonderful homes of the mid 1700's, and playing in the water fountain. We capped off the day taking s swim in the Atlantic Ocean at Folly Beach, and we finally converted Toby to a surf lover. The water was almost disturbingly warm, due to the gulf stream that pushes warm tropical water up the atlantic coast. But we exited just in time for the afternoon storm to roll through.
