Today we visited the Royal Ontario Museum. It's really one of the most impressive museums we've been to. It was also extra exciting today, especially for Orin, because they had a special dinosaur exhibit on show. We all wandered around enjoying the huge skeletons, bones and interesting facts about these amazing prehistoric animals. Orin was a super star and really got into it, concentrating and getting involved in the interactive parts of the display. Another highlight for him was the Bat cave. After lunch we all had to walk through it several times to see the bats hiding in the niches in the cave. There were lighting and sound effects to make it extra exciting. The Bat cave was part of a greater interactive display featuring mainly animals native to Canada. We got to feel a beaver and raccoon and have a close up look at a moose. It was very well done.

Tanya, Craig and Orin left us at around 13:00 and the Dave and Penny joined us in the First People section. This section offered a look back in time to the early days of Canada where the Indians and Eskimos (Inuits) were still living in their wigwams and igloos. Seeing their clothing and reading about their daily lives really makes you appreciate how they survived in Canada's harsh conditions. We learnt a lot and especially enjoyed the old black and white movie of the Eskimo fishing a seal out of the ice. So brutal and amazing.

The four of us then headed out and walked along a few streets peeping at the restaurants and stores. Dave chose a lovely Italian spot for lunch and we enjoyed pastas and soups all beautifully prepared. We then took a drive to have a look at the CN Tower and considered going up but it was a bit too misty to enjoy so we decided to give it a miss. With a few hours to spare we stopped at one of the malls to do some prezzie shopping. It is sale time so all the stores have huge sales on. We saw some lovely things but didn't really have enough time to scratch so didn't buy much.
We then jumped into the car and headed back to the house to meet Craig and Tanya for dinner. They took us to one of their local spots and it was great. The vibe was fun and everyone really relaxed. Orin was as good as gold and entertained himself with building a nest of jackets on the floor in the corner. It was a lovely evening and a great way to spend our last night. We can't believe the time has come to pack up and head home but it has come and tomorrow will be our last day in Canada.
