After lunch we headed off to the spa that was in the Blue Mountain Inn just a short walk away from our hotel
. Walking together in the snow and looking at the houses along the way was great fun. We arrived at the spa and were spoilt to an hour aromatherapy massage. After the previous days' snowboarding we were feeling rather sore and stiff so the massage felt like heaven. The masseurs were also very polite and efficient. The Canadians in general are very polite and welcoming, we feel. We emerged from our massages feeling super sleepy and relaxed. We bumped into Dave and Penny who were arriving for their reflexology and massage. Then we clomped back to the village on the snowy streets. It was our turn to organize dinner and the intention was to buy some goodies at the little convenience store for a stay at home dinner. Unfortunately there wasn't much choice so we decided that going out would be a better option.
When we got back to the hotel room, Craig, Tanya and Orin were back. We all gathered in the lounge to open a few Christmas pressies that Dave and Penny had brought with them. We felt very spoilt getting more pressies and were delighted to get some pressies from Col and Dan and Tess folks. Such a lovely surprise. Dave and Penny also spoilt us rotten.
Then it was off to a restaurant down the road for dinner. The village is packed with people and is filling up more and more each day as new year approaches so the restaurants are all fully booked each night. Fortunately it makes sense to go for early dinner with Orin so we got in before the dinner rush and had a lovely dinner together. Anton had a juicy steak and enjoyed the bacon bits sauce on top immensely.
Then we headed back to the room and had coffees, chokkies and chats before bed. It's been very special having time together as the Marsh family.
So we woke up and crept to Dave and Penny's room for breakfast to let Craig, Tanya and Orin have a sleep in. After breakfast it was time to decide on what we wanted to do during the day. Dave got on the phone and arranged a snowmobile ride and spa treatments for us. We set out to the snowmobile spot which was about 15 minutes from Blue Mountain. Unfortunately when we got to the spot they were running an hour late. We stuck around for a bit to see if they could accommodate us but it meant a 45 minute wait so we decided to rather reschedule for the next day. We headed back to Blue Mountain and popped into the Irish pub for some lunch. Craig was looking after Orin and Tanya had gone to movies with her sister so it was just Dave and Penny with us. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of chicken wings and chowder soup.
