So once again it was a morning packed with spectacular dives. We were up for our first dive at 6 then gobbled down some breakfast, got back in the sea at 8 for our next dive and ended the dives with a last dive at 11. Every dive was amazing! We have been so impressed with the different reefs and feel totally spoilt. The visibility has been brilliant and the dives very relaxed. We then enjoyed our last lunch with our fellow divers, chicken and chips - yum, before lying around on the sun deck and just taking in the beautiful colour of the sea and warm sun. The Reefkist boat arrived at 14:30 to take us back to Cairns. We felt sad to leave but pretty exhausted so thought it best that we have a few hours of rest before moving on.
We got back to our backpackers at 5ish and lay next to the pool and Skyped the parents for a news update.
Then after a much needed shower we headed out along the Cairns promenade and found a lovely seafood restaurant. We spoilt ourselves with fish and prawn dishes, both of which were delicious. This was accompanied by a chilli and salty squid salad. Yum!
After dinner we headed to the local bar and restaurant, The Woolshed, where we met up with some of the divers and snorkellers from our boat. The dive company guys bought a couple of jugs of beer and cider and some pizzas in celebration of the great few days we'd had on the boat. We enjoyed an evening of fun with them before saying our good byes and heading to bed. We were both feeling happily exhausted by the time we hit the sack. Diving the Great Barrier Reef is a must for all divers and snorkellers. The weather was fantastic and the conditions are pretty consistent for amazing dives. We loved every minute and have had a good laugh at ourselves wobbling about on land trying to adjust again to being off the boat. Next stop is the Gold Coast.
