Today we decided to stay in Dubrovnik, see the sites and relax. Our day kicked off with left over pizza in bed while planning our day.
We headed for the city wall as our first activity for the day. The wall is massive and runs around the whole city, so you can walk right around the city on the wall. It has been an serious contributor to make Dubronik the powerful city state that it was, and has as recently as 1991 - 4 been used in defense during the Serb-Croatian war, which saw the city sieged for 7 months by Serb forces. Apparently 57% of buildings were hit by mortars during this time, however the city has been restored so well it is difficult to see any evidence, unless pointed out.
The walk was great and the views of the city and the ocean spectacular.

Next was a visit to the city pharmacy, one of the oldest recorded pharmacies - and it still runs.
Next door is the Church of St Francis - very lovely inside- however is was very badly damaged in the war and is almost completely reconstructed- although you would never tell.

Feeling peckish we headed to the mini supermarket and bought bread and cheese. Making sarmies we headed to our beach we visited on the first day. We ate and spent time enjoying the sun, swimming, and watching some cliff diving by the locals.

Heading home we stopped at St Ignatius Church and the city cathedral - both very beautiful.

After an afternoon nap, we headed out for more eating. We had a yummy dinner, and then stopped at a jazz cafe to listen to some great music. View brief video.

Last stop before bed, we had a take away Nutella crepe, and walked the Main Street before returning home. Another lovely day.
