We had an early morning catching trains to Gatwick to catch our flight to Dubrovnik.
The coast is very picturesque, and Dubrovnik is like nothing we have seen before.

The city is a walled fortress, which internally is made up of beautiful stone buildings and compact streets and allies lined with restaurants. The impressiveness of the city needs to be seen, it is extraordinary.

It also has a lot of steps. Which we very much noticed finding our apartment close to the centre of the old town.

After which we decided to try find a little swimming spot our hotelier suggested which was a spot through the city wall. Have a look at the pics - it's swimming off rocks. But the drop off is such that its like the sea is a big pool. It was lovely.

The rest of the day we ate ice-cream, slept and headed out for a delicious muscle dinner, following which we had a night walk around the city.
It has been a wonderful beginning to our stay in Croatia.
