Waiting to greet us this morning as we landed, our friend and hostess for our stay in London, Sarah. After dropping bags at Sarah's Twickenham apartment, and some delicious smoked salmon and eggs - we headed out to find Churchills war room. From Waterloo station we had a drizzly walk down the South Bank of the Themes. Finding a good ol English Pub with fish and chips we stopped for lunch at The Anchor, next to Shakespears Globe Theatre reproduction.

After a recharging ale, fish, burger, and chips we continued on our journey - initially crossing accidentally to the wrong side of the river.

The nice thing about getting lost in London is you find other fun things - beautiful buildings, a special view or an interesting place. Its really an incredible city with an incredible history.

Soon we were back on the right side of the bridge. Passing St Francois Drake's ship the Golden Hinde, and Southwark Cathedral. We went in the cathedral which was very beautiful inside.

Continuing on, we soon arrived at the Winston Churchill Britain at War Museum. It turned out not to be exactly what we thought it would be, however it was great to see.

And so after a day of a lot of walking we are back at home ready for a movie, some thai food and time with our good friend.

Hopefully today will be a foretelling of our trips' thread of relaxed adventures, unexpected findings, friends, food, cultural, history and most importantly fun.

This is crazy!

When I went to England just after matric, that is the pub I worked at!
The Anchor Lodge in church square.

I'm sure I have a few photo's somewhere of me in that same location!
(probably not sober)

On second thoughts, it can't be the same one.
We were in Shepperton which is just slightly South of that position.
