Ode to Oasis Overland - Oct-Dec 2004
Entry 16 of 31 | show all | print this entry |
Here is a poem compiled by Kirsty, Jo, Stacey and myself. All the fond memories of our tour.
It started in Cairo with 24, we saw the Pyramids and already thought we'd seen it all! Then on the feluccas we hit the Nile - 2 days of glory, followed by weeks of bile.
Cruising on the truck in the hot hot sun, we soon hit Dahab for some fun fun fun! Whilst the girls got laid, the boys caught the shade, and when the sun went down we all hit the town.
Then came the ferry - need we say more. 16 hours later we finaly hit the Jordanian shore. After a night in the desert - that was no fun, we carved up the town of Wadi Rum.
Petra rocked, though by Damascus we were shocked - from gunshots, to wailing, to orange orchards - where some thought they were sailing (and ended up bailing - abort ship!)
Turkey was next on our list, and all we thought about was getting pissed. The sites were amazing, the Votka was not - if you come across it as to be shot.
Sadly though it has now come to an end, and we have to say goodbye to our newly found friends.
3 cheers to Oasis, what more can we say. 5 weeks on tour, hip, hop, hooray!!
