Boating around the inlet beaches

To finish off Victoria we stayed in Mallacoota which is right on the border with New South Wales and did a spot of boating around the huge estuary, not before spending a bit of time by the beach and pool at the campsite - we're slaves to the sun and surf.
The boating was quite good fun - not sure why the Lonely Planet said it was their favourite place in Victoria though. It was very peaceful and picturesque and we did drop anchor at one point and think about going in but then found we couldn't restart the engine and were a good 2 hours from the marina, more than 3 times that by oar and not another boat in sight. We started to row, got a bit tired so had another go and finally it started. Phew! We left her running from then on!
