Going to grad school this year I had the honor of making friends with an outstanding group of ladies. We were al in the same graduate program at the U of A but didn't really become close friends until part-way into the second semester when things started to really get tough with class and life in general. One night we all needed to get some stress out of our system. So in true grown-up, professional, social worker fashion we decided to go play at the park! :) One of the parks in Fayetteville has a castle for children to play on and on that particular Tuesday evening we decided that we wanted to be Princesses and play at the castle too! After that fun night of being children again we decided that just maybe we sould hang out and be Princesses every Tuesday night... and thus the PC (Princess Club) was formed.

After that first Tuesday, we spent every Tuesday together. Sometimes everyone was able to make it, sometimes just a few. But always whoever was there spent the evening haveing the best dinners of the week, laughing, and forgetting about all of the stress that life brings. I wouldn't have survived grad school without these ladies. It just so happens that when I decided to apply for Up With People, these were the ladies I consulted with (even before talking to my parents). The PC encouraged me every step of the way. They bought raffle tickets. They listened to my concerns and excitement. They paid my way to fun events when they knew I was saving all my money for UWP. The PC has been my rock through all of this.

Last Thursday the PC (minus 2 who couldn't make it) had a get-together in Little Rock. It was the first time we had seen eachother since graduation and of course we had a blast! We went out to Cajuns to eat then went out to Ernie Biggs piano bar. It was the best "see you later" party ever.

Of course, with these girls we could have gone to McDonalds and laughed just as much as going anywhere else. We tend to bring the party where ever we go.

The next day we all hugged, and took more pictures, and said our goodbyes. Leaving Little Rock and driving home was the saddest I've felt in a long time. Preparing for UWP has been exciting and an adventure in itself. So much so that I forgot how sad it was going to be to not have my family and friends with me once I leave.

As I said to one of the PC-- there's just something about saying goodbye to your girlfriends that kind of breaks your heart.

So now we will just have to plan a Skype PC meeting for when I'm overseas...because I seriously don't think I can wait until Christmas to share a meal...and dessert....and hours of laughter with these girls.

There's always something tomorrow

So I say let's make the best of tonight

Here comes the rest of our lives"-- Graham Colton
