Today concludes the first week of staging and I am officially 100% exhausted!! This week we've had educational meetings, vocal lessons, dance practices, lunch meetings, modules (auditions)....and so many more things. Every day is crammed full of events.

I was called back today to two dance workshops. I was excited to see my name on the board but had no idea how stressful/tiring those workshops would be! The first one I did was a swing dancing workshop and was partnered with Coy. In the second workshop we learned "Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing for the "Love Medley" in the show. I was partnered with Isaiah Chatman in that workshop. We had to practice lifts and a lot of partner work. Isaiah was such a goofball that it made the workshop really fun to be in. He was pretty afraid of dropping me in the lifts and I think us being timid made it a little bit more difficult for us but I know that with practice we will nail it! :)

In the afternoon we praticed blocking on a mock stage in the ballroom. The dance instructors are awesome because even after a long day of rehearsals and workshops and full cast movement.... they still manage to keep up the energy and positive attitudes.

Participating in the workshops today made me realize how important a positive attitude is. Its so incredibly easy to blame an instructors teaching style, or how tired you are, or that you just ate, or that how fast we have to learn, or that your partner isn't as good as you on the fact that you're struggling to learn a dance...but all of those complaints won't get you anywhere. Sometimes we spend so much time complaining that we lose learning time. Positivity and enthusiasm will get you so much further.

Tomorrow is Saturday and once again we will be at the Sherman Center bright and early at 8:00!! :) Staging is so much more intense than I thought it would be. The workouts are so good for me but I'm so so so SO tired and sore! By the time we get home I am exhausted and don't want to do anything but take a shower and go to bed :( I hope that I'll get in better shape and then it won't wear me out as much.
