Where I stayed
I'm in Vegas Baby! The only place where you can over dress and everyone will think it's ok. The place where you can pretend that you're famous and party like a rock star! Except, I was here with my brother on a business trip. So not that big of a group to party hard but it's ok I still had fun.
Never really been to Vegas before so it was nice to see a change in environment. We stayed at MGM at a really nice suite. Took a stroll outside the hotel to see all the bright lights, which reminded me of Time Square in NYC. I think the Bellagio Fountain was the best- very in sync with the music along with spectacular lighting. Don't get me wrong everything else is nice too like the Eiffel Tower and the mini Statue of Liberty.

After the meeting we traveled downtown to Fremont to catch the light show

But honestly all this gambling and partying tired me out. It feels as though people are trapped in this one area of Vegas. That's why I was so excited for my trip to El Dorado Mine! This was once a gold mine that is right by the Colorado River. Occasionally they shoot movie scenes from this place because it is an open area with easy explosives, having no damage done. So it is pretty exciting. We rented a car and drove 45 minutes South of Vegas. The owner is really nice and friendly.
My brother and I decided to Kayak the Colorado River but since I'm not a kayaker we rented the two seater kayaks. We managed to explore different coves and beaches across the river. We found a lot of strange things on land like dead fish on a stick, old bonfire, and one slipper. Random but it happens I guess
Being daring and adventurous my brother and I decide to climb this really high cliff. It was pretty scary because every big rock you think is sturdy, somehow isn't. So we slipped a lot and believe me that tumble down that cliff will probably break my rib. Through teamwork we managed to reach the top of the cliff. But the view was definitely worth the risk because it was amazing. I have never seen the Colorado River as beautiful from the top of the world. It was serene, relaxing and no one was around.
Today we decide to see what all the hype is about over the Hoover Dam. This dam dates back to the 1930's and was built to control floods. Great idea FDR, who knew the dam would be so popular with tourists. It is a giant concrete dam that I can now say I've been to. It is pretty neat but unless I can slide down the Hoover Dam, I think I would rather be kayaking the river instead.
Some beauties of nature are just waiting to be found but it takes effort to get to them. If I were you, I would Kayak the Colorado River.
