August 8, 2007:

Wow, have I ever seen hills like California, I would be afraid to walk let alone drive in a car. I felt as though the car was going to flip over and tumble down the street. Massively steep hills, I think it would be dangerous for any old person there. So of course, we decided to hop on trolley, ignoring the wonderful California sign that states: no dumping crabs in the sewer. Thanks for the cement welcoming sign, California. After our little trolley, we arrived at the fisherman's warf. Lots of boats, lots of fish and an... island? Sure why not, let's venture to that island and see what the hype is all about.

As my cousin was getting us our boat tickets, my sister and I spot something strange. A women.. sunbathing on a wooden plank. She was not on a beach, or the lake but just laying on the floor next to benches tanning herself. Random? Yes. Strange? Apparently not. So my sister decides to do the same.... silly girls. They're all the same!

And so we venture off to... Alcatraz Island! So this is where the most notorious prisoners were held! It would suck to be Scarface and Capone living in this trapped island, isolated from the world. But really? These men were smart. Enough to organize an escape from Alcatraz all with a spoon! What an adventure- wish I knew Capone.

One would think that California's hills would have scared the wits out of my pants but nope. We decide to start our morning bright and early to bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. Team work is what it's all about. Never leave a man, or in my case a women, behind. We must focus and push towards the goal: my sourdough bowl filled with clam chowder. Through all those hills, the Golden Gate Bridge was totally worth it. I don't even care about my sun burnt raccoon eyes at the end of the day.

Surfs up dudes! I cant swim and am deadly afraid of sharks but that will never stop me from trying new things. Traveled up North to surf and good thing I didn't encounter any sharks. The waves were massive and huge! I did drown multiple times but always managed to get myself back up. Got knocked in the face with my own surfboard along with my sister's surfboard but it's all good. No pain, no gain. I think I only managed to stand up once on the surfboard- still a big accomplishment for being a first time surfer!

Went out that night to a rooftop lounge- still don't remember the name of the lounge but apparently that's what photos are for. Haha.

Good times with good people. I miss you cousin!
