And now the next exciting episode in the Amazing Adventures of Shazanne.  So an early start and off to the port of Piraeus ready to board Aquamarine our cruise ship.  This ship is part of the Louis cruise line and is not that big and really quite old.  However the purpose of this segment wasn't really about the cruise - more about the places the ship was going to take us to to give us a little taste of the wonderful Greek Islands.

The embarkation process was really smooth - we stood in a line and checked our suitcases in, showed the relevant paperwork, decided whether or not we wanted the all inclusive alcohol option - which we did of course! and by 9.15 we were on board and checking out our cabin.  It wasn't particularly flash but clean and tidy and had everything we needed in it.  We did a bit of juggling to work out how best to fit our suitcases and then we were right.

We had a meeting with Alexia first up where we had to decide on what optional excursions we wanted to book for when we were in the various ports.  Then it was time for a bit of spiel from the Cruise Director and then a muster for the lifeboats.  We've got some really funny photos of us both waiting at the muster point dressed up in our lifejackets.

It was now lunchtime so we headed up to the pool deck for something to eat and after that decided we needed a little nap.  So back to the cabin for a few zzzzs.  When we got up we went down to see a show which was on called NewYork/Paris which was really quite entertaining and by the time it had finished we had reached Mykonos and it was time to disembark.  It was around 4pm by now and really quite windy.  However we were bussed from the pier into the town of Mykonos and we then followed Alexia as she showed us the lovely little Church of St Nicholas, then through Little Venice - dodging the big waves which were crashing up on the pathways, and on to the spectacular Windmills of  Mykonos - brilliant.  We took lots of photos then decided we were hungry and ready for dinner so we found a nice sheltered restaurant on the seafront and with Paula and Mel - had dinner.  We wandered through the pretty streets with lots of lovely little gift shops and caught the bus back to the ship.

We headed up to the pool bar and met up with Brenda and Marian and had a couple of drinks then bed.
