in a nutshell: this was a LONG day of driving, going from Cervantes right down past Perth to the Stirling Range National Park. We stopped only to fill up the car (!!!) and buy some food, otherwise it was a dull day. In a way it was good that the temperature had dropped down to the mid-20s as it made sitting in the car a lot more comfortable!
We found our way to the Stirling Range Retreat (recommended in the Lonely Planet) which was the most beautiful campsite on the edge of the National Park. It was such a calm and peaceful place, the cyclone hadn't quite caught us up so it wasn't as windy as Cervantes and we had a glorious sunset behind the mountain range.
