In a nutshell: slightly underwhelmed by this little touristy town...

-------------------

We arrived in Pushkar quite late in the evening and walked from our hotel into the town to get something to eat. There's much more of a 'traveller's vibe' in Pushkar - and an awful lot of Israelis! There are even lots of signs up in Hewbrew there! The town was getting ready for the famous annual Camel Fair (happening on Nov 8th this year) and we got a clue as to how many people they have decending on them when we saw the government-facilitated tent village going up on the outskirts!

Pushkar is built around a holy lake so there are more temples and sadhus (holy men) than you can shake a stick at - it's a kind of mini-overview of the spiritual melting-pot that India can be. In the morning we went down to the lake and took some pictures of the ghats(which you're not supposed to do) but other than that there wasn't an awful lot to do (apart from shopping!) so we left at lunchtime for Agra...
