It was a relatively short trip to San Pedro de Alcantara. A smallish town just south of the big cities of Malaga and Marbella on the Costa del Sol. If you think the Gold Coast has lost a lot of its charm you aint seen nothing yet. Still San Pedro is a smaller and nicer town.
We wandered around and had a lovely lunch in a restaurant run by a dutch family then went down to the beach. Beautiful blue water but no waves and very dark sand. In the middle of the beach there were a couple of very large Eucalypt trees that wouldn't look out of place in Australia. This town is full of apartment buildings that appear to be pretty empty, half built apartment blocks and empty building sites. It is clear the area is still suffering a financial crisis.
We came back to our apartment which is vey nice and cooked our own dinner. Very simple local food. The unit has two big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms spacious living room and a great big kitchen.
Off to Ronda in the morning
