Thangool
Entry 7 of 46 | show all | print this entry |
Well I'm now working for Mick Delroy in Thangool. It's been really busy, so I'm very sorry for not writing sooner. I'm enjoying work with lots of young thoroughbreds, handling and braking in before they'll be shipped away for trainer to go on racetrack.\ He's got almost 60 horses, including broadmares and foals, a stallion, and horses in all ages. He also has a cattle stud with somewhere around 800 Brahman and Brangus (mix between Aberdeen Angus and Brahman). So this is a very big place. I was just up at one of his properties with 16000 acres! (And that's just one of the properties) It's been raining here for almost 24 hours, and I mean really rainstorm, with thunder and lightning. It sounds almost like high explotions, but it's very beautiful to watch the lightning! We are very glad for the rain, beacuse like I said earlier it's drier than normal here. I'm just about to have dinner, but I will write more soon! Take care!

Rain in Norway too! (reply) Oct 18, 2007 03:02 EST by kristines
Hello :)
So cool and interesting to read about your life in Australia, and the Thoroughbreds! I've heard about a illness on horses in Australia... So all the horseraces are stopped until all the horses in under controll and not sick any more... Is this true?
I hope you enjoy your job in Australia, and I understand that you not have much time for keeping this blog update.
