It isn't easy to keep up with this travellogue. I will try my best. I'll also try to upload some pictures tonight!
I've been on one farm for a weeks training in Widgee, outside of Gympie.
Had a really good time. The nicest people Joe, Joey and Diana, and I felt almost like home.
It's a really nice area with mountains and hills. It's very dry and hot now, but apparently it hasn't been this bad for over 100 years. It's supposed to be really green and high grass, but it's very hard to keep up with the feeding of the animals because of this. They keep Drought Masters and Brahman Cattle (The bulls are really nice to be that big. I was a little bit sceptic at first, but they were very calm and easy) plus stock horses. Diana also keeps geese, hens and pigs.
I've been mustering cattle from horseback, training young horses. Handling chainsaw and driving on the left side. That was an experience I tell you, was thinking left, left, left all the time but it was quite fun and not so hard as I thought. I've even tried riding motorbikes, and that was really fun.
