I wasn't expecting much from Paris. I know it’s a big famous city, but after the amazing time in Germany, and from what I’ve heard of how the French think of Americans, I wasn’t too psyched
Boy was I wrong. It was such a big city, but managed to be big while still maintaining its beauty and delicateness. Every building looked the same, but in a good way. If any one of the public buildings in France were placed in New York City, it would be a tourist attraction. In Paris, it’s just another building.
The first night we were overwhelmed at the enormity of the city and the number of things we wanted to do there. We went to a great restaurant and tried duck and escargot! They were both delicious. We were seated at a table with people we didn’t know which ended up being awesome. The first couple was French but knew English well, so we talked about living in France and he gave us some recommendations. The second couple was two girls from Argentina who want us to email them when we’re in Barcelona so we can meet up. So friendly! We didn’t go to the bars, but instead got a glass of wine at a corner café by our hotel.
