Had a great couple of days here. We've been doing our fair share of sightseeing – Grand palace, wat arun, lucky budda and a river cruise (see video!) unfortunately we don’t have a cable to attach the camera to the comp and it doesn’t have a card reader but we are about to set out to find one so expect a bucket load soon haha!

The weather hasn’t been the best of friends to us and we have been caught in a couple of super heavy downpours! It’s so humid and sticky in Bangkok that you never quite feel clean and we’re both really looking forward to heading down to the beach to get some fresh air, sunshine and a bit of nature! Concrete jungles not much fun!

Anna’s wildlife report: Millions of dogs that all look the same, millions of cats with no tails, a few weird looking birds with yellow heads, jimungus fish that go nuts for bread and one bloody great Quasimodo dragon/monitor lizard (that had sam screeching like a girl!).

Getting around is always an adventure in itself,so far we’ve done tuk tuks (should not be allowed – scariest method of transport ever!), sky train, express boat, longboat and taxi. Sky train is by far safest/least stressful! A tuktuk driver who looked about 14 got stopped by a man with a large gun (police man,but still) and given a ticket for some reason. 10mins later this kid starts waving the ticket around saying that he cant pay and that we should. When he began to gesture something about hand cuffs we got out and walked away very quickly indeed!

Too much to report on here but we are writing a diary every day/ couple of days documenting events such as the one above which we’ll look forward to showing you all at some point in the near future!

Miss you all so very much (I know we write this each time but we really mean it. Last night when we had a bout of homesickness, sam had to have a ban on sad songs on his ipod and I had to ban all discussion of Bella/home comforts! Otherwise tears and tantrums might have ensued! Hehe.)

We are having a fantastic time and feel very lucky to be here. We met some old boy today who after trying to sell us charms said that we should all learn to find satisfaction and happiness in what we have and we will heed such wise words!

Hope everyone is ok, good grief its chucking it down again!

Write again very soon,

Anna and Sam

I would have paid good money to have seen Sam "squealing". l can only wonder what he would have been like if the Dragon had got a taste of him. He He.

lt sounds to me like you are both having a fantastic time, l can't tell you how much l'm looking forward sitting by the fire, with you both , and a nice bottle of wine, liistening to, and reading about, all of your exploits

We miss you both loads too, but that's only to be expected under the circumstances, so don't worry too much about being homesick. lt will ease in the fullness of time. Listen to the "sage" and enjoy what you have now, because when you return you will eventually join the rat race of the working masses, and these times will become treasured memories

What is the time difference between here and there, as at some point in time it would be so nice to have a chat.
Anyway, for now, just keep on having FUN FUN FUN, and we will be in touch again soon.

First fund transfer will take place shortly.

Love you both so very much, ALWAYS.

Glad to see you're both having a great time, I'll keep this brief because I'm at work and I suspect this may not be a wholly acceptable use of taxpayers money! Given our experiences in Borneo with dragons and crocodiles, I can see how Sam may have been a bit peturbed!
Not much news this end, apart from that Sam has moved from just feeling sick to actually being sick and is now the proud and constant wearer of travel sickness bands! Looking forward to seeing you both on 11th Dec. Co-op crisps, battenberg cake and crumble to be provided! Love to you both, Dan, Sam and thing which is currently the size of a raspberry! Xxxxxxx

Goodness me, it all sounds great, apart from the dubious wildlife. Having said that we had a dragon in our bath this morning but it appeared, weirdly, to have 8 legs. David has given it a new home outside the bathroom window. If it's any consolation, it's been raining and misty here for hours with no immediate sign of improvement.

Transport also sounds interesting! Do you remember that awful chap who owned Taxifast trying to introduce tuk-tuks (if that's how you spell it) to Plymouth? Probably a jolly good job he didn't succeed. Can only begin to imagine the mayhem that would have caused down Union Street!

Glad you're having a great time - homesickness will definitely pass. I have replied to Sam's e-mail with hugely boring details of the culture shock curve!

love you both very much - fingers crossed for the mighty greens tomorrow.
