Had my first surf lesson :-) Wow, this is a really exhausting sport. Paddling, paddling, paddling... But I already managed to catch one or the other little wave, jump on the board before falling a felt second later into the water again. Guess until a cool surf-feeling comes up it will take much more. But I like the challenge! In addition it helps me feeling more comfortable in the sea in general. Got under water, over waves, through waves many times, always found the surface again and didn't lose any contact lenses which I was actually most scared about ;-)
Think I never stayed in the water for such a long time in my life, felt really soaked at the end. Only realized later that I look like after a fight, my knees, hipbones, ribs and elbows are something between red, purple and blue and I can only lie on my back, but I am so tired that I sleep very well anyways, probably the rum everyone drinks here helps as well ;-)
That it keeps raining now and then doesn't bother me so far, and surfing is the perfect thing to do because you get wet anyways.
