Our friend Tim has really showed us the beauty of Auckland, NZ´s largest city with 1 million people. So much so, that we´ve been thinking it would be a good place to do another work contract. Warm weather and water everywhere which is why it is called the City of Sails.
It can´t be a bad place when it´s warm enough to dine outside at night, kayak or walk around the bays after work and you´re only 30 minutes away on a ferry from beautiful gulf islands with gorgeous beaches and vineyards. Lots happening culturally too.

Contrary to popular opinion, Aucklanders are a pretty decent bunch. While the rest of NZ slags them off, they´re quietly smiling knowing they´re onto a good thing. Really interesting cultural mix there with a big Polynesian population and various Asian communities.
Alrighty, we´re ready for the Northland road trip now...
