I arrived last night in Jacksonville with an uneventful flight. It is hot here (duh!) Spent the day beachside and poolside at the Sea Turtle Inn, getting lots of reading accomplished! The beach is nice and sandy, with a long stretch after the dune/beachgrass. Decent waves, very gentle compared with the Pacific. Went out to dinner in Atlantic Beach at the Dolphin Depot. It is a really cool place that used to be a gas station. It is small, intimate and has great seafood. The menu is presented on chalkboards and the food/service/atmosphere were all very unique. Explored a few bars there, but left early because my contacts were bothering me. Nice beach town, lots of drunk people walking around. After I removed my contacts, we took a nice walk on the beach and enjoyed the weather.
