After the cruise we had a group lunch at the Ye Ole Cheshire Cheese that somewhat resembled what I imagine eating in the Leaky Cauldron would be like. We then went to visit Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross but it was kind of disappointing since they’re currently refurbishing Platforms 8-10 so the sign for Platform 9¾ was in a bit of a random place.
It was still cool to see it and be there, though. We then went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum that was insanely crowded. It would be cool to go to one in the U.S. because I think I might recognize more of the figures. My family then went to check out Harrods which, as Ken stated, is basically Nemian Marcus (+ a food market) on steroids. It was so crazy!! They really do have anything you could possibly need and since there was a big sale it was jam-packed. We took refuge in a café and had a snack there before David and I had to go to the Empire Theater to meet up with Michelle, Monica, Tanya, and Steph to watch HBP again. It was so cool to be there since the whole theater was decked out in Harry Potter posters. Not only did it have a distinctly HP vibe but it was also the location on the London Premier of the movie so all of the stars walked the red carpet there and we were even in the same theater that they viewed it in! The theater was absolutely enormous, the seats were very comfortable and reclined, the sound was excellent, and the screen was HD clear. Ahh, it was wonderful. I loved it so much more the second time (since I expected certain changes and omitted scenes) and I can’t wait to watch it again!
On Friday we went on a mini-tour before our boat ride and saw where the telephone booth entrance to the Ministry of Magic was (Harry and Mr. Weasley went there at the beginning of OOTP for Harry's trial). Afterwards we went for a cruise on the Thames River and saw a better view of the Millennium Bridge and the Parliament building as well as the Belfast ship that they flew by in OOTP on their way to the ministry. We also saw the glass building where the office in the opening sequence of HBP was set and the Old London Bridge that reminds me of the Spice Girls since they jumped the bridge in their double-decker in Spice World.
