Where I stayed
Guesthouse La Sagrada Familia
On Tuesday, after yet another great hotel breakfast at Roma, we decided to brave the AeroBus back to the Lisbon airport – with much better success this time! Our flight to Barcelona was late, so we passed the time talking to a lovely Aussie girl at the airport (whose story was a bit sad – just a few days earlier, she had been assaulted by a Portuguese security guard at a nightclub, so she was leaving Portugal and heading up to Ireland via Spain to stay with mates there and hopefully get her smashed-in teeth fixed up…).
When we arrived in Barcelona, we figured out the bus to the train to the Metro thing –and found our way to Guesthouse La Sagrada Familia, right near (you guessed it) Gaudi's famous La Sagrada Familia
After lunch, we took a walk around our new neighborhood, and stopped at a local supermarket to buy shampoo/conditioner (an interesting experience, and I’ll leave it at that, although I’ve found that my Spanish has quickly returned in full form… hooray!). Long nap, more computer time (Gmail chatted with my friend Liz! Hooray!). We grabbed dinner around 10:30pm – bocadillos, pinchos, tapas, etc. After another evening walk around La Sagrada Familia, we headed back to bed. Nice, lazy, in-transit day.
Since today was not too interesting activity-wise (and yet I still managed to write three paragraphs – how did that happen?), I thought I’d make the theme of today’s brief journal entry SIGNS. In Spain, the signs were everywhere! Funny signs, interesting signs, signs of which I just had to take pictures. So… enjoy the signs, and catch up with you again soon.
