hey!
its my last day in thailand, off to hong kong tomorrow. another day, another shopping centre. there are soo many shops here, its absolute madness. i think im reaching saturation point, im not a big shopper as it is. wondered into another shopping centre yesterday. i cant believe how many shopping centres there are here in bangkok and one next to the other as well. there a massive one called mbk which is full of cheap and mid-range shops, rows and rows of stalls selling copy cds, mobile phones, food, fake clothes, everything you can think of. you can buy an mbk t-shirt with the slogan, never give up! it gives me a headache just thinking of the sheer number of shops!
then next door is the siam discovery centre which has more luxury stores and popular brands
and now im sitting in true, a shop which has a coffee bar, sells mobile phones and other electronic items, plus graphic books and has an interent cafe with armchairs and 24 inch widescreen monitors! its so cool that its almost too cool, i dont get what its suppose to be! but its very relaxing here nonetheless. this place makes the one in malaysia seem tame, although i havent seen a food place to rival the one there.
asia is just full of so much cool stuff its quite mad
people in thailand know how to shop and eat, theere are limitless options for eating. every shopping centre has a massive food hall and its all such good value. if only we had such good food back home. and the people here are all so slim but they are always eating! they even eat when they are working, i think that must be the trick though, they eat often but little portions. it would be a shame to pig out on one thing as there is so much choice and its all really good! the street food is generally better than the chain restaurants, although sometimes you just need some western food when you crave home. we had some excellent pie out in chiang mai! cant stop eating out here!
times almost up now, chat to you all soon xxx

. theres loads of funky stores and cool brands. next door is the siam centre full of more brands and cool places to eat. across the road is siam square with loads of young and funky shops and cafes. then yesterday we found another shopping centre which is even bigger, grander and more luxurious!! the siam paragon is brand new, just 4 months old and has all the luxury designer brands, plus an entire floor dedicated to food, their very own aquarium, siam ocean world (where tien got his finger bitten by a hungry fish while on a glass bottom boat ride through a tank with sharks in it), another floor for entertainment with an opera theatre, 38 lane bowling with karoake and imax theatre! phew, its called the pride of bangkok and i havent mentioned, for the boys, the ferrari enzo which is sitting in the showroom which is also inside this place! tien got quite emotional about seeing it.and now im sitting in true, a shop which has a coffee bar, sells mobile phones and other electronic items, plus graphic books and has an interent cafe with armchairs and 24 inch widescreen monitors! its so cool that its almost too cool, i dont get what its suppose to be! but its very relaxing here nonetheless. this place makes the one in malaysia seem tame, although i havent seen a food place to rival the one there.

. i've seen so many cute, funky, retro, stylish things here, i feel quite overwhelmed! and i thought london was cool, theres just so much going on out in the world. phong and i went to probably the coolest shop the other day. it's called it happened to be a closet, its a clothes store which also has a italian cafe inside, comfy sofas and tv screens plus a salon and what looked like a small spa! the clothes were ultra cool, all customised and individual with prices to rival boutique stores back in london.people in thailand know how to shop and eat, theere are limitless options for eating. every shopping centre has a massive food hall and its all such good value. if only we had such good food back home. and the people here are all so slim but they are always eating! they even eat when they are working, i think that must be the trick though, they eat often but little portions. it would be a shame to pig out on one thing as there is so much choice and its all really good! the street food is generally better than the chain restaurants, although sometimes you just need some western food when you crave home. we had some excellent pie out in chiang mai! cant stop eating out here!
