I spent some time this morning setting up the spotting scope my sister lent to me so I could peer at the birds in the salt marsh. Peered at a great egret and watched it eat a fish the size of it's head. Then spent some time trying to ID the little, flitty birds in the trees outside the villa. Palm warblers? I don't have a clue, they won't hold still for me. You will all be interested in knowing that the TSA rumpled through my luggage to look at the spotting scope. It was packed on the bottom and ended up on the top of my luggage when I got here
We went to see Girl with the Dragon Tattoo this afternoon. Don't miss it, unless you really don't like graphic violence. I have never seen a movie that was so true to a book. It is really long but not a minute was wasted (unlike our experience with Hugo). I cannot figure out how they hand out these Academy Award nominations. Tattoo was a much better movie that Hugo in my estimation.
And so for the only photo of the day. It is restaurant week in Hilton Head. We went to a restaurant called Sigler's Rotisserie and Seafood that we had been to once before. Now you can just guess about the clientele, as they serve dinner beginning at 4:30. However, in spite of this, they have good food - not adventurous, foodie food - but fresh and well cooked food. However, if you couldn't figure out the clientele from the hours they serve, take a look at the picture of what greets you when you walk in.
We ended the day with a phone call with the Susans (who had apparently been having an extended happy hour) figuring out what excursions we should go on for our cruise next summer in the Baltic. You will have to wait until next summer to see what we chose. That will be for another blog.
Ken was big on Obama's SOTU tonight clapping and cheering all the way through. I was working with the computer guy trying to make my remote computer access work.
Now , it seems to me that sounds terribly exciting.
Think we may be going on a tour of a local winery tomorrow. Nothing like South Carolina wine I say.....
