Day 9 started out very slowly and sluggishly because we drank so much last night! Katie, Lauren and I decided to do some souvenir shopping. We went into the Temple Bar district and found a great little store called the Irish Celtic Craft Shop. I hadn’t bought any souvenirs yet so I decided to get my shopping done. I bought my grandmother a coffee mug with a scene from the Quiet Man on it and some Irish chocolates. I got my parents some Irish Creme Truffles. I got a 3-pack of shot glasses to split between my cousin, my brother and my grandfather. I got a shot glass for my dad and a sheep toy for my dog. I got my mom a Celtic cross necklace. I bought both my brother and cousin a funny drinking poster and got my sister in law some Irish crystal. I got my aunt and uncle a water fount to put the holy water in I had gotten them. I bought my grandparents a pack of Irish playing cards and finally I got me a Celtic scarf.

After we finished shopping we walked around looking at the buildings and taking pictures. I really liked the architecture of Christ Church Cathedral and Dublina and the bridge that connected the two was pretty. Dublin has some very pretty areas and some cobblestone streets, especially in the area referred to as the Corn Market.

We didn’t get onto Grafton Street at all, we mainly stayed around Temple Bar district. We were all hungry so we went looking for something to eat. We looked for quite a while and came across alot of restaurants. Some were expensive, some weren’t. We couldn’t quite agree on a type of food or a place until we found a Subway! We took Michelle’s sub back to the hostel and on the way back we saw this crazy statue. No one knows what it was... so we took a picture. It was somewhere near Corn Market.

After returning to the hostel everyone decided to take the time to write in their journals about the last few days. We decided to get up early tomorrow and go on the Guinness tour and see some more of Temple Bar. Michelle, Katie and Lauren took their laundry to a local place to get done. We stopped in an internet cafe to email home. Lauren called her family from a phone booth in the store which was expensive.

We went across the street to the Centra Market to get some dinner and drinks. We ate back at our hostel and played cards. Katie and Michelle taught me how to play Run Rummy. We played for quite a few hours before going to bed. We had to get up early tomorrow to pack our suitcases. :(
