Yesterday we booked ourselves on a cruise along the Bosphorus. So we were picked up from our hotel by an incredibly stressed tour guide, and taken to the harbour where we hopped on a boat. The cruise was lovely - the water was so blue, and it was very pretty looking at the little fishing villages on the water's edge, as well as the odd fort. We went out along the European side and back along the Asian side. Two continents in one day!

In the afternoon we visited the Dolmabahçe Palace, which was just by the Bosphorus quite far from town. We saw the changing of the guard and then went inside to see a much more European style (rather than the Topkapi Palace) of opulence. Chandeliers and gold were everywhere. There were also some pretty gardens. Unfortunately no photos were allowed inside the palace, so I have none.

After this we took the bus across the Bosphorus Bridge to the Asian side. The signs all said 'Welcome to Asia'. Having not been in Asia since May 5th 2009, this was quite exciting for us! We had a drink in a little cafe, and then headed back again.

Lastly, in the evening, I decided to test out the Turkish baths. This basically involved wearing very little while being scrubbed with sandpaper and soap, followed by a jacuzzi bath. It was really realxing and my skin felt great, but it left me with a very red face, especially as I got sunburned today!

We had dinner in the same place as yesterday because we had enjoyed it so much. We tried another sugary dessert and yet more kebabs.
