We arrived in Harare and I was a little nervous as I had heard all sorts of things about Zimbabwe being a bit dodgy but everything was fine. On arrival we changed our money and got oodles of cash for our US$50. That night was Rachel's birthday so we all went a bit mad. The beer costs 15p and the water costs £1 - madness! In Harare we visited an orphanage that Rachel had raised some money for. It was very interesting and it is such a shame that these people are so poor they can't afford anything. But I felt like I had done my good deed of the day. From Harare we headed to the Great Zimbabwe ruins, which is printed on the banknotes. We saw the ruin which was in a very pretty area surrounded by hills. It was very hot though. From here we headed to Gweru.
