I finally finished my degree so to celebrate David and I headed to Croatia. We flew to Trieste in Italy and got the bus from there to Zagreb in Croatia. Along the way we passed through Slovenia, and even got Slovenia stamps in our passports, which I was very excited about! Slovenia was very rural with lots of farms and fields, but we did not stop off and carried on to Croatia (where we got another stamp) and to Zagreb. Unfortunately time constraints on this trip meant we had very little time to explore Zagreb and so we left without seeing much except our hostel (which was lovely) and the outskirts of the city. We headed on to Plitvice National Park, which was very beautiful. There are many lakes there, all on different levels and so the water running between them has caused many waterfalls (or slaps as they call them here) to form. The water is turquoise and there are forests all around, making it a very beautiful area to visit. We saw many dragonflies which were also turquoise and even a rather large frog. Unfortunately no swimming was allowed but I still dipped my feet in. In the evening we stayed in an apartment in a nearby village, which was very clean with a kitchen. Next morning we headed for Zadar.
