It was a beautiful drive over the mountains with views of Queenstown and the lake on one side, and green hills, farms and forests on the other. On arrival we sat by a beautiful lake and ate the pies that we bought in Arrowtown. After this we went to Puzzling World, a place with a maze and lots of rooms full of illusions. It was great. We got lost in the maze, but I beat David to the exit, which he was not happy about! The toilets had an optical illusion that made it look like we were in Ancient Rome and the toilet seats were filled with money, sweets or flowers. We saw some clever holograms and there was a room of faces that followed you wherever you went, which was really clever. There was also a room tilted by 15 degrees, so it looked like water was running uphill and we could stand at strange angles. It messed with our heads and made us feel dizzy! Another room made David appear like a giant and me tiny, by messing with the perspective. After all of this we got frustrated with the puzzles in the cafe, and then found a nice hostel in Wanaka. We decided to try crumbed lasagne for dinner, which was horrible!
