We arrived in the pouring rain and found ourselves a hotel. The internet said rooms were $6, but they were $45! So we left and found a place with bungalows on the beach. We went in and they were full! It was pouring with rain, Christmas Eve and we had nowhere to stay. It was not going well. We had some lunch at this hotel, and then amazingly they had a cancellation or something and we got a room for $12. Yay! So we checked in and went for a walk. It is a tiny place so there wasn't much to see. We went down to the beach which was pretty and mooched about until dinner when we had Italian food.
On Christmas Day we had the first lie in we have had for ages and then went for breakfast of boiled eggs and pancake. Yummy! Luckily the rain had stopped and the sun was out so we headed straight for the beach for a swim. It was very refreshing, and we paddled about for about half an hour. Suddenly I felt something wrap around my foot. I kicked it off but it stung me. It hurt quite a bit. I looked at my foot but there was nothing on it. Then David had the same thing happen to him! We got out of the water and went to our room where we saw we were covered in red blotches. We didn't know what it was so we covered ourselves in antihistamine and went for Christmas lunch. This consisted of seafood and cost only 4 pounds in total. The cheapest Christmas lunch ever! After lunch we went for a walk along the beach and saw a huge shoal of jellyfish washed up on the shore just where we had been swimming earlier, so it must have been them that stung us! We sat on the beach with a bottle of Dalat wine and celebrated Christmas. David built a formula 1 car out of sand, which kept him amused. Later on we took a ride into town on motorbikes and went for a yummy dinner of barbecued seafood. After dinner we phoned our parents and then headed back to our bungalow.
