Terracotta Warriors

The thing to realise is that the Terracotta Warriors, although only dicovered in the 70s, were made in 247BC thereabouts. Qinshihuang, the first Emperor of China, who founded the Qin Dynasty, conquered 6 neibouring states, and proclaimed himself Emperor. He established the centralised State and started to build the Great Wall as a defense. He began to build his mausaleum, when he became Emperor in his 20s, which took 40 years to complete. Although he devoted his whole life to the search for immortality, he died relatively young, at 50, before the mausaleum was completed
