After messing around in Dumaguete for far too long, I finally got booked on to the weekly overnight ferry to Cagayan d'oro in Mindanao. It turned out that the ferry had the added bonus of cabaret karaoke singers included in the price. After much merrymaking, and a stint on stage dueting some love song, we arrived and i got on the first bus up to the port town of Balingoan - gateway to the volcanic island of Camiguin.

I'd been looking forward to this island for ages, as others had been raving about it. My travel buddies, Murry (aka Mauricio) and Julian, were also in attendance so I had a ready-made base awaiting me. After a couple of jeepney rides, i arrived at my location - Jasmine on the sea, owned by Melinda and her extended family (Mieme and Minda among them).

It turned out to be a great week's stay. Melinda, was a great host, as she proceeded to take us on walks across the island, to local discos, to beautiful deserted islands and to volcanoes. The rest of the family (aside from the auntie, who was one of the most miserable women I've ever met) were also really sweet and fun. More good times and a shame that we moved on after a week.
