Lennox Head
Entry 72 of 113 | show all | print this entry |
After another quick battering by the fierce Pacific waves on the body boards we left Yamba and headed for Lennox Head. We stopped briefly at Ballina to look at the Big Prawn, a more impressive replica than the Big Banana but without all the tacky tourist attractions -- in fact I can't even remember the building it was strapped on top of.
Lennox Head boasts one of the world's top 10 surf spots at Lennox Point and from our view point high up on the cliffs above it looked like one for experts only. A rocky coastline meant that you probably needed to know what you were doing to avoid ending up on the rocks and even getting into the waves took a fair bit of effort.
We finished the day with a walk along the beach and a tasty curry at the Indian resturant in the laid back town centre.
