Today we tackled the Sydney harbour bridge climb. OK, so tackled might be too grand a term and Heather thought 'Bridge Walk' might have been a more fitting title for the attraction. That said, the views from the top of the arch were magnificent and our tour leader provided entertaining Aussie humour interspersed with interesting commentary. I'm not sure the high tech harness was strictly necessary, you'd have to have been really stupid to fall, but I suppose it prevented suicide attempts!
Our appetites for the Sydney tourist trail suitably whetted, we took the ferry to Manly -- a quieter suburb of Sydney with the mandatory surf beach. The quality of the surf and surfers was not as high as at Bondi where we had been yesterday. Indeed many of those taking to the waves made surfing look as hard as it probably is! The beach itself was beautiful and we spent a couple of hours eating fish and chips and realising that surfing is not an activity that can be mastered in an afternoon lesson.
We've booked tickets for a 4 week holiday to next year and we hope to be doing the bridge tour too! We'll pay particular attention to your blog notes for what's hot and what's not!
