Hello people! It has been a while it seems and i have been so busy it will be hard to fit it all in here! I will probably fill in details when i get home next week :( but for now a brief summary of the past few days in India.

I left Goa on a flight to Bangalore with a smile as the ground crew of the Jet airways i was taking decided to overule the security staff and not let me on without confiscating my Poi's (two tennis balls on chains for twirling on a Thailand beach and making a fool out of myself at how bad i am at it) They deemed them a security risk and i had to wait for the staff to take them away to be returned in Bangalore. The flight was ok and i was met by Paul who has organised all my remaining trip for me. We went out on the town and had a few fosters (went 8 months in Oz not touching it and can't get enough here) then on Saturday went for a drive to the Nilgiri mountains for a trek to the hills the next day. We stayed in Forest Hills resort in an Elephant and Tiger national park called Bandipur and due to the rain in the night had to cancel the Hike to the hills, instead we headed to Ooty a tow about 30 km's away and had a REAL INDIA experience, walking through the streets and mixing in with the locals, eating in the tradional way with fingers not cutlery, watching a horserace in Masala race course, and buying boxes Tea from a guy who couldn't count and i realised later had under charged me about 30rps (50p) still it made for a great day, and we decided to head for the Ooty club and try a game of snooker, no entry for us due to the shorts we were wearing. I had noticed the locals staring at our legs and shoes a lot but i had thought nothing of it!
We headed through the hills to return to the resort and spent the night on the look out for wildlife! and playing word games round a camp fire with the rest of the resort. I trimmed the rude bits of a few drinking games i know and we had a laugh.

Headed home the next day via a temple 600 steps up on a rock hill, which was for the Jaine religion, situated in a town called (and apologys for the spelling) Shreevangabelagola.
It was a massive statue of a naked man (all their priests are naked most of the time) about 50-60ft high and overlooking the town. We had to obey the rules and leave our footwear at the bottom and wear socks due to the heat on the rock. The story of the statue was amazing and the sheer engineering it must have taken 1000 years ago to build it took us by surprise.

We headed back to Bangalore via a mad road that meant i had to look away most of the time to lower my heart rate. We saw so many close calls with cows, bikes, cars and trucks that it was scary.

A trip out into town to shop for beer and fruit for breakfast on Pauls new bike (a superb 530 Enfield) and we were ready for today and the flight to Delhi. We stay at the 5* Hyatt (courtesy of FM Global ltd) and after a visit to the Taj Mahal tomorow, i spend my 31st birthday on Thursday in luxury before flying to London on Saturday night.

For now I am of to fight the tuk tuk's and head back for lunch.
take care and see you all soon

Happy birthday to me, Happy birthday to me....etc...
